While I was in Michigan last weekend, my mind was filled with memories of my childhood summers. I grew up on a cherry and asparagus farm, so lots of my summer memories involve manual labor. I learned how to drive a tractor long before I could drive a car! I was fortunate to have a family that loves the outdoors, so I also remember lots of camping with my parents and sisters, bike riding and sailing with my Dad.
One of the best parts of summer is having a picnic. I recently performed magic at GO Transit's summer picnic and had a great time. It was a rare occasion for me to perform for so many kids - and I loved it! In 1984 a conference was held to bring people together from three worlds - Technology, Entertainment and Design (hence, TED.) Eventually, the result was an incredible website featuring video some of the best presentations I've ever seen.
