Thinking Like a Magician "Simplify" - September 2007 My wife and I both are "stuff" people. We like stuff. And we have a lot of it! We are both rather sentimental, so we tend to collect things from our travels, our friends - anything that reminds us of good times and good people. Consequently, when we move (4 major moves in the past 8 years), it's a bit of a hubbub. Each move has presented certain challenges and opportunities. This time the major challenge was that we moved into a significantly smaller dwelling. It was rather like fitting two dozen sardines in a one-dozen sardine can! As hard as it was to do, we chose to view this as an opportunity to decrease our material possessions. What a liberating process! By simplifying I feel better. This is a small first step towards living a more 'simple' life. I've got a long way to go, but I'm happy to know that I'm on the road. Trick of the Month - Simplify...
